Description
This photograph is a self portrait. I am wearing a facial mask that is homemade. I made this mask today so I could go out in public and be safe. It is a new reality of this time we live in. The cloth and beaded covering is made from a velveteen ( or maybe suede ) material and a hairband I cut to add decoration to it. The elastic from the headbands were sewn on the sides and the mask slips right over my head.

Re-visiting the new reality. Hopefully by this time next year you will be able to post a picture of yourself without the mask!

Constance, kudos on your mask design. Comes in handy nowadays in our New Reality :-((( Great Title, befitting the circumstances as well. Let's pray that Soon we shall go back to some sort of normality. I wear the Mask with the Proud feeling that I am doing my part for my family and the community. Not a big deal, really. I wear for You... You wear for me! In many countries they have been wearing for a very long time and its part of their daily Normal life. L/F

Wearing a face mask, has been a reality for me, for a long time, as I am allergic to chemical fragrances/smells (scented laundry stuff, perfume/cologne, air fresheners, second hand smoke, gasoline, car exhaust etc.). So now I don't have to feel uncomfortable when at the store, or bank. In June of 2018, I had to wear one on a United Airline flight from Chicago to Tucson, as a male flight attendant, was loaded with cologne. I even had to wear my sunglasses, as the air blowing would whip it in my eyes. I thought I must look like a criminal or something. It is mandatory in the Arizona County in which I live, and I am more than glad to follow the mandate. A very creative mask you have made Constance. Thank you for sharing it with us. Congratulations for all your Homepage Features, too! LF
