Description
This digital image is a combined artwork featuring an Eastern Ratsnake. It's scientific name is pantherophis alleghaniensis. This beautiful and harmless snake was in my front yard, just resting as it had a very full body from having eaten quite a large meal. Maybe it ate the toads or perhaps a squirrel, whatever it was, I'm glad it was not one of my cats. The photograph has been enhanced by creative editing. The design of the snake, the black and grey scales in a somewhat diamond pattern along the back and white scales underneath are just perfect for this creature to blend in with Nature, except when it decides to visit someone's front yard. Sorry, but I made the snake pose for some pictures. Great as a greeting card or other small gift. ( This vertebrate can be found throughout the area of the Allegheny Mountains in Virginia, USA. ).

Amazing action capture of the snake and excellent digital manipulation to emphasise the subject of the art!L/F/Pinterest
